Guest Contributions
Are you interested in contributing to Ghana’s growing hub for criminal law commentary!
Criminal Law Blog Ghana welcomes contributions from lawyers, legal professionals, academics, and others working within the criminal justice system. Contributions may take different forms. Not every contribution needs to be a full-length article or academic piece. What matters is clarity and usefulness.
To make this easier, contributions are accepted under the formats below.
Option 1: Guest Articles
Guest Articles are well structured pieces that engage with Ghana’s criminal law system through analysis, commentary, or critique.
Topics may include:
- Criminal procedure and court practice
- Juvenile justice and restorative approaches
- Case commentaries and legal reforms
- Human rights and access to justice
Why contribute?
- Amplify your voice in Ghana’s legal space
- Share knowledge with students and practitioners
- Build a writing portfolio
Submission Guidelines
Length: at least 1,200 words (longer pieces up to 2,500 words are welcome) Clear, engaging, and practical Must relate to Ghana’s criminal law system Original and unpublished content only
This format suits contributors who are comfortable developing an argument over a longer piece.
Option 2: Practice Reflections
Practice Reflections are short, first-person reflections drawn from lived experience in criminal practice.
This format is designed for contributors who have insight from practice but are not looking to write a full doctrinal or academic article.
A Practice Reflection may explore a procedural issue you struggled with in court, a decision or moment that stayed with you, something law school did not prepare you for, or a question practice forced you to confront.
Guidelines
- Length: 800–1,200 words
- First-person writing is welcome
- No citations or technical analysis required
- Case-specific or confidential information should not be disclosed
- Submissions are reviewed for clarity and structure
If you have ever thought, “I’m not sure this is an article, but it’s worth saying,” this format is for you.
